SOURCE SPORTS: Eagles’ Players Believe Jalen Hurts Is a Franchise Quarterback

It appears the Philadelphia Eagles believe to have found their franchise quarterback. Jalen Hurts is going into his first full season as the team’s starting quarterback and people within the organization are ready to give him his flowers now.

ESPN’s Jordan Schultz reported Monday that there is a “fast-growing sentiment” around Eagles camp that Hurts is “undoubtedly” the franchise quarterback. Schultz added that Eagles players are “consistently blown away” by Hurts’ skill level and work ethic.

There is a fast-growing sentiment among #Eagles’ players that Jalen Hurts is undoubtedly the franchise QB. His work ethic, intangibles and overall skill level have captured the entire locker room. Players I’ve spoken with are consistently blown away by Hurts – on/off the field.

The Eagles drafted Hurts last year in the second round out of Oklahoma when they still had Carson Wentz. However, Wentz’s performances dropped off in 2020 and his relationship with the franchise evaporated soon after.

With Wentz gone, it’s all eyes on Hurts to get the Eagles’ offense back on track. Hurts will have to prove that he can consistently play at a high level on the field and continue developing areas of his game, such as accuracy.
