SOURCE SPORTS: NBA Considering In Season Tournament With a 1 Million Per Player Prize Incentives

Kevin Durant Enters Seven-Day Quarantine After COVID Exposure

The NBA wants to give us more games and it appears the league wants to give the players some more money. The league wants an in-season tournament and now it appears they figured out a way to get the players motivated for it.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the league’s Competition Committee discussed the tournament idea on a call Monday. The proposed idea would include $1 million in prize money for each player on the winning team.

The league has long floated the idea of an in-season tournament, similar to what the WNBA did this season with their Commissioner Cup, to break up the regular season a bit and give every team a chance of winning some sort of trophy aside from the NBA title. Since it makes dollars, expect this to happen sooner than later.
